VILLAGE PLAN – FINAL REPORT

Please watch out for a copy of the Final Report which will
shortly be delivered to every household in Lingfield and Felcourt. This is the
result of many months’ work by the Steering Group and a project that has
involved much more time and research than was originally envisaged.
The Final Report is presented as an informal and easily
readable booklet. It contains the results of the Questionnaires returned by
nearly 50% of residents and is illustrated by local photographs of our
Community.
The Key Issues raised are: Traffic and Congestion; Parking; Public Transport;
Noise; Dog Fouling and
Litter!
These concerns were highlighted again and again. It is
pleasing to note the high proportion of residents who have lived long-term
within the parish who regard this community a great place in which to live.
However, this is not the end of the project –
only the first step! The main reason for the Countryside Agency funding
this project was to enable village residents to have a chance to air their
concerns and hopes for the future.
The next step – is to
form an Action Group of local residents to work with the Lingfield Parish
Council (and other agencies) to ascertain ways of addressing the Action Plan Key
Issues.
We hope you will enjoy reading this Final Report on the
Lingfield and Felcourt Village Plan 2010, and would like to thank all those who
have been involved – the volunteers, supporters, sponsors and donors. In
addition, those members of the Lingfield and Dormansland Millennium Photography
Project, the Village Design Statement Group and others who have generously
allowed use of their work to illustrate this report. Also special thanks to Ken
Denton at Millprint for all his help and advice on producing the Report.
Please note: The analysis, concerns and key issues contained in the
Final Report are based solely on responses received and do not represent views
of the Steering Group.
Last, but certainly not least, the Steering Group would like
to thank all the residents of Lingfield and Felcourt who supported the project
and for taking the time and interest to complete and return the Questionnaires.
Parish Councils and other local authorities are being urged to consult their
residents to find out what is important to them. Lingfield and Felcourt have
now done this, and the answers are in black and white for serious consideration
by everyone.
Any parish resident wishing to know more or who would like
to become involved in helping to implement the Key Issues raised should
initially contact the Lingfield Parish Council, Parish Office, Lingfield &
Dormansland Community Centre, High Street, Lingfield, RH7 6AB. Telephone:01342
