The
Lingfield 'Marathon' Fun Run
It was started in 1981 as a project for the International
Year of the Disabled. In its' 3rd year the Marathon provided a minibus for
the use of the local community particularly for the elderly and disabled.
the Fun Run continues to raise funds towards future replacement buses as
well as many other local causes.
The event with about 600 entrants is held each year on
the Sunday before the May Day Bank Holiday. There is 6 mile and 10 mile run
and a 6 mile walk. It is held in the grounds of NCYPE and is a real Family
Fun Day with a live band, refreshments and many stalls and entertainment for
the children.
